3.5 Stars, buy again. Sausage Hard to find. Needs a bit more spice.
I was hungry in 2 hours.
Cooked per directions (10 to 15 min)
Checked at 10 minutes. Almost all the water was absorbed. I like my scrambled eggs soft so I stopped there.
Put half in the fridge and ate it about 6 hours later. Added a little water and microwaved for 2 minutes. Tasted VERY salty.
Tested the Jeff Garmire Breakfast Skillet Pro Meal in my kitchen today. Package says use 8oz water. A quick google conversion says that’s .2367L so I filled to below the 1/4L in my JetBoil. After 15min I had breakfast skillet soup. I used a slotted spoon to scoop out the meal. I poured the remaining water from the pouch into a measuring container and it read 3.5oz!! Consistency was fine. Taste was good but now I’ll have to test again with 5oz water to see if that works better
I'm very picky and this skillet meal is something I would eat. It was especially good with a flour tortilla and a bit of cheese. It sure beats fast food.
I like the Breakfast Skillet. I wished it absorbed the water better. If I put in the 8 ounces that is recommended...it is up being slightly soupy. So I have learned to put a little less water which works other than potatoes stay a little more firm. Besides that, the Breakfast Skillet is tasty.
I love the fact that I have food that I can just cook up real easy and grab and go if I need to only cuz you never know when there's going to be an emergency
This didn't fluff up when rehydrated and didn't absorb all the water. I ended up having to throw it in a frying pan to cook off the excess. The eggs looked granular and the whole thing was very mushy and weird, except for the sausage, which was tough. I ate my portion and spent the rest of the day nauseous. My husband ate a few bites and threw the rest away.
